Romans 2 - A Jew inwardly

  1. There is a perceived advantage the Jews have by having the Law given to them
  2. However, we see here that Paul tells us that all man has sufficient Law given to him already in the Law written on his heart.
  3. If man were able to follow this Law perfectly, he would be saved, but no man other than the God-man Christ could do such a thing
  4. So instead, Jew and Gentile alike must be saved by circumcision of the heart and become a Jew inwardly
    1. Meaning we all must rely upon the perfect work done by Christ
    2. Rather than rest in any outward righteousness of our own
  5. To truly be circumcised of heart and show we rest in Christ, we must be repentant and seek the glory found in Christ
  6. And so we again see there is no longer a distinction between Jew and Gentile, for we all must have the inward circumcision of faith, given to us only by God's providence.
